Overview

CleanMyGallery is a privacy-first photo management tool. We process photo files locally in your browser. We do not upload, store, or have access to your photos.

This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. The short version: your photos stay on your device, while your account, usage summaries, and subscription state are stored only when needed to run the service.

Information We Collect

Photos & Media

All photo processing happens 100% on-device (mobile app) or in-browser (web tools). Your photos are never uploaded to our servers. We never store your photos remotely. We have zero access to your media files.

EXIF / Metadata

EXIF metadata (GPS coordinates, device information, timestamps) is analyzed locally for features like Privacy Score. Stripped data is discarded on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

Account Data

If you create an account, we store your email address, optional display name, authentication provider, premium status, and your daily usage counters. This lets us sign you in, show your dashboard, and enforce the free or premium plan attached to your account.

Usage Analytics

We use privacy-friendly website analytics to measure page views and product usage trends. This analytics setup is configured without cookies and does not include your photo files or the contents of anything you process.

Usage History

When you are signed in and complete a tool action, we may store the tool name, file counts, byte counts, savings totals, and the completion timestamp. We store these summaries so your dashboard, stats, and premium usage limits work correctly. We do not store the actual photos you processed.

Advertising

Free-tier visitors may see Google AdSense ads on the website. Premium users do not see ads. AdSense may process request-level data under Google's own privacy policy.

Purchase Data

Premium purchases are handled by LemonSqueezy. We do not store your full payment card information. We receive only the details needed to confirm your purchase and activate premium access.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We never upload your photos to any server
  • We never access your photo content on our servers
  • We never sell personal data to anyone, for any reason
  • We never share data with third parties for their marketing purposes
  • We never collect location data beyond what is embedded in photo EXIF metadata — which we help you remove

Web Tools (cleanmygallery.com)

All processing on cleanmygallery.com happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript and the Web Crypto API. Files you select or drop onto the page never leave your device.

  • No cookies are used except a theme preference stored in localStorage
  • Signed-in usage tracking stores completion summaries like counts and byte totals so your dashboard can show history and stats
  • We respect navigator.doNotTrack
  • No photo uploads, no remote image storage, and no server-side access to your files

Authentication

  • Email login: We store the credentials and tokens required to keep you signed in securely.
  • Google Sign-In: If you choose Google login, the sign-in flow is handled by Google Identity Services.
  • Local session storage: Your browser stores authentication tokens and profile information locally so the site can keep you logged in between visits.

Third-Party Services

CleanMyGallery integrates with the following third-party services. Each service operates under its own privacy policy:

Data Retention

  • We retain no uploaded photo data because your files stay in your browser
  • We retain account, premium, usage, and history data only for as long as needed to operate your account
  • Privacy-friendly analytics data is aggregated and retained in accordance with our analytics provider's settings
  • Clearing your browser data removes all locally stored web tool data

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right to access: Request a copy of any data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to deletion: Request deletion of your data
  • Right to data portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
  • Right to object: Object to processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@cleanmygallery.com. Since we process virtually no personal data, most requests can be fulfilled instantly.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

CleanMyGallery is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, through in-app notifications or email.

Continued use of CleanMyGallery after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
